Bromo – Ijen – Sukamade (Turtle Beach) 4 Days / 3 Nights The Bromo – Tengger – Semeru National Park covers some 800 square kilometres in the centre of East Java. It is the largest volcanic region in the province and contains the island's highest mountain, Semeru, which rises 3,676 metres above sea - level. The ten kilometre wide 'sand sea' of Bromo has become East Java's most famous attraction. The Park is home to quite a number of rare and protected plants, among them the dwarf shrub styphelia javanica (L.) with its fragrant white flowers, as well as a special type of rhododendron. Higher mountain regions are covered in hardy cemara (casuarina) trees, while the lower slopes are used partially for commercial forest plantations. The range of fauna here has not been fully recorded, though a few species, such as the wild pig, Timorese deer and muncak (barking deer) exist in considerable numbers. There are also leopards, flying squirrels and a variety of duck and other waterfowl. Sukamade beach is about 97 km to southwest of Banyuwangi. It is natural and quiet, beautiful place. Dutch discovered it in 1927. The 1200 hectare estate is an active plantation that produces rubber, coffee and cacao. Sukamade is the east Java Natural Resource Conservation which is in charge of the turtle’s perpetuation. A night adventure tour to Sukamade is an unforgettable trip. You will be guided by a natural resource to find sea turtles come to a shore to lay eggs. You can see a female turtle lays more than one hundred eggs on the sandy beach. The female turtles usually start landing at 7:30 PM and return to the sea at 12:00PM. November to March is the peak season for laying eggs. Day 2 >> Bromo - Ijen Wake up at very early morning, making short preparation for Sun Rise tour, and then the private jeep 4x4WD will drive you up to Penanjakan Mountain 2774 asl as the highest place to the Sun Rise and amazing view of mountain range. You may become live witnesses how amazing Bromo view that spread in your naked eyes, the sun with pink color ray with gold-yellow silhouette drift on slowly from east horizon. It will grab you in to the different atmosphere and unforgettable moment that you never imagine before. After that, proceeding drive back to Bromo crater to witness the crater from closed. Back to the hotel for breakfast, short back packing and heading to Ijen volcano in Bondowoso. Day 3 >> Ijen – Surabaya / Sukamade Beach Early in the morning, well before sunrise, we drive a short way to the start of the trail that leads up to the active, beautiful crater of Kawah Ijen volcano (about 1 hr climbing) with its famous blue acid lake (the most acidic in the world!) and the hot, partly liquid sulphur deposits. The fumaroles are so hot that sulphur comes out as green vapour. The vapour is collected by large pipes, through which the vapor condenses, and at the exit you see red rivulets of liquid sulphur, which then freeze to solid deposits. These deposits are quarried, in order to obtain huge blocks of pure sulphur. Ijen's sulphur deposits are infamous for the local workers who quarry the sulphur with primitive, health-devastating methods,- an incredibly difficult job. After Breakfast at hotel, then proceeding to Sukamade Beach, Meru Betiri National Park by Jeep4x4WD. Emerging from the sea under cover of darkness, usually between about 9 pm and midnight, the turtle crawl slowly up the beach, deposit their eggs beneath half a meter of sand and return to the water in a process that takes several hour to complete Day 4 >> Sukamade – Ferry Terminal Banyuwangi / Surabaya Airport After breakfast, make short preparation for leaving the area.
